Richard Woodhouse

A life on Sweet Briar Marshes

Richard Woodhouse lives in Norwich close to the Sweet Briar Marshes. He's a familiar sight around the marshes with his camouflage clothing, long camera lens and mobility scooter.

As he explained to Finnish artist Tiitu Takalo for the On Our Doorsteps project, he's been coming here regularly throughout his life, since he was a small boy, drawn by his fascination with the wildlife he found at Sweet Briar and the beauty of the landscape. He's also a talented painter and photographer. His work captures something of his deep knowledge and love of this beautiful and nature-rich place in the heart of Norwich.
